Abstract
1340578 Photographic antihalation layers FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [7 April 1970] 23279/71 Heading G2C A photographic film support has an antihalation layer comprising a light-absorbing antihalation material and at least one of a hydroxyalkyl alkyl cellulose hexahydrophthalate, a hydroxyalkyl hydroxyalkyl alkyl hexahydrophthalate and a hydroxyalkyl alkyl cellulose tetrahydrophthalate, wherein the alkyl groups may be the same or different. The antihalation material may be carbon black or a dye and the antihalation layer is resistant to hydrolysis but rendered soluble when processed in alkaline solution. The examples refer to cellulose hexahydrophthalate substituted by hydroxypropyl methyl, hydroxypropyl hydroxybutyl methyl and hydroxyethyl methyl, and to cellulose tetrahydrophthalate substituted by hydroxypropyl ethyl and hydroxypropyl methyl.
