1337172 Cleaning vehicle headlamp lenses WESTFALISCHE METALL INDUSTRIE K G HUECK & CO 23 April 1971 [24 April 1970] 11108/71 Heading A4F In a lens washing apparatus for vehicle headlamps a valve 5 in a conduit 4 between a pump 2 and discharge nozzles 8, 9 is controlled by a device 10 to open after a time delay after the starting of a motor 3 driving the pump 2, and a pressure actuated switch 13 is responsive to the pressure in the conduit 4 between the pump 2 and the valve 5 to stop the motor, if a pre-determined pressure is not established in the conduit 4 after the motor 3 has started. The device 10 is an electronic or other electrical control unit which opens the valve 5 a short time delay after closure of a switch 12, and may incorporate an indicator lamp which is illuminated when the switch 13 is closed. The washing liquid may be discharged intermittently under the control of the unit 10.
