Abstract
1328825 Photographic silver halide bleachfixing solution FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 15 Dec 1970 [16 Dec 1969] 59588/70 Heading G2C An aqueous photographic silver halide bleachfixing solution contains (i) a ferricyanide and optionally a ferrocyanide, (ii) a thiocyanate and (iii) at least one compound having an aldehyde group or a melthylol group. The compound (iii) may have the formula RCHO where R is K, alkyl, vinyl, alkyl or a heterocyclic group which groups may be substituted or unsubstituted, or a carboxyl group, or the formula OHC-R'-CHO wherein R' is a direct bond, a divalent aliphatic or a divalent aromatic group or the formula R"- CH 2 OH wherein R" is an aliphatic group, an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group. The ferricyanide is preferably potassium ferricyanide and the thiocyanate is preferably sodium, potassium or ammonium thiocyanate. Bleaching, fixing and hardening can thus be effected with a single solution.
