Abstract
1328348 Tubular heat exchangers FISONS Ltd 4 Nov 1970 [19 Nov 1969] 56539/69 Heading F4S In a heat exchanger comprising a plurality of U-shaped tubes 3 extending into a duct 2 from a tube plate 1, an annular inlet header 7 is arranged to surround a cylindrical outlet header 6 or vice versa, the wall of the inlet header 6 passing through an opening in the closed end 8 of the surrounding outlet header 7. The opening is provided with a gland 9 so that the walls of the headers can move relative to one another to accommodate differential expansion whilst remaining in sealing engagement. The tubereceiving holes in the plate 1 are arranged in two portions viz a central portion 4 and an annular surrounding portion 5. The two portions 4 and 5 may be separate parts capable of movement relative to one another.
