Abstract

1307895 High voltage switches MAGRINIFABRICHE RIUNITE MAGRINI SCARPA E MAGNANO MSM SpA 10 March 1970 [10 March 1969] 11446/70 Heading H1N A high voltage circuit breaker with a symmetrical arc-chute and magnetic blow out has arc runners 7, 8 formed of metal bars of substantially uniform rectangular section with longitudinal slots 9. The arc-chute is composed of two packs of insulating plates 5, 6 between the arc runners 7, 8 and two auxiliary arc runners 11 and two packs 12, 13 of magnetic metal plates between the auxiliary runners. Two blow out coils 14, 15 are disposed either side of the central section and connected between the auxiliary runners. The arc-chute is located between pole plates 17 (Fig. 3, not shown). The tips of the arc runners 7, 8, 11 and the arcing contacts 2, 3 of the circuit breaker are located generally at the corners of a regular hexagon (Fig. 2, not shown). The circuit breaker may be air break or be filled with liquid or gas.
