Abstract
1305255 Containers and packages; container closures PETER ECKRICH & SONS Inc 22 April 1970 19277/70 Headings B8C B8D and B8T In a container, e.g. for meat slices 12a, comprising a shell 14 which defines a cavity 27 closed by an outer cover 42 which mates with a peripheral flange 26 on the shell 14, a closure panel 34 having a grasping tab 34a is interposed between the cover 42 and the flange 26. A channel 24 formed in one surface of the flange 26 forms a bead on the other surface which is received in a channel 52 formed in the outer cover 42, and a raised portion 54 of the cover 42 is received in a recessed portion 28 of the shell 14. The shell 14 has a grasping tab 22a, is formed of clear semi-rigid plastics material, and is preferably secured to the closure panel 34 by heat sealing or adhesive. The tab 34a on the closure panel 34 has strips 36, 38 of cardboard secured thereto and through which a hole 40 for suspending the package is punched.
