Abstract
1299306 Multicoloured wool/acrylic textile product JAPAN EXLAN CO Ltd 27 April 1971 [27 April 1970] 11723/71 Heading D1B Blends of wool and acrylonitrile polymer are dyed first at pH 5 to 9 with a direct dye to dye the acrylic fibre followed by treating with a sulphonated anionic aromatic polycondensate and then dyeing the wool with an acid dye under acidic conditions. The acrylonitrile polymer contains groups derived from a basic unsaturated monomer having a pKb value at 25C of 8 or less, preferably the acrylic fibres are prepared from a copolymer containing at least 75% by weight of acrylonitrile 0.5 to 10% by weight of a compound of formula I: in which. R 1 is hydrogen or a methyl group, each of R 2 and R 3 is a methyl or ethyl group n is an integer 2 to 4 and 0% to 15% of a neutral monoethylenically unsaurated monomer. The fibre blend may also contain as a third component acrylic fibres having dissociable acid groups the fibre being dyed by adding a cationic dye to the acidic dye bath containing acid dye.
