Abstract

1293066 Bags WINDMOLLER & HOLSCHER 22 June 1970 [8 July 1969 4 Aug 1969] 30166/70 Heading B8K A cross bottom or block bottom bag has the side flaps of the bottom either not overlapping or just overlapping and held in place by a sheet coated with adhesive. The sheet may be on the outside of the bag or the ends of one side of the sheet may be stuck to the corner tucks and the side flaps folded over and stuck to the other side of the sheet. In a gusseted bag the end of the bag may be slit to form rectangular side flaps. The bag may be of paper, or of plastics with a plastics adhesive having the solvent removed being used. Alternatively a contact adhesive or adhesive strips may be used. A polyolefin web from which the bag may be made may be treated by a corona discharge. Carrier loops may be held by, or handle slots may be formed in, reinforcing sheets stuck to the top of the bag.
