Abstract

1287736 Container closures; lidded containers PATON CALVERT & CO Ltd 16 Oct 1969 [26 Oct 1968] 50915/68 Headings B8C and B8T A container closure applied to a container comprises two elements, one being a rupturable diaphragm 12 extending across the container 14 and adhered around its peripheral edge to the inner wall 16 of the container, the other being a push-in lid 14, the two elements being shaped so as to be at least in part complementary and the peripheral edge of the diaphragm being sandwiched between the inner wall 16 and a side wall 20 of the lid 14. Adhesive may be applied to the diaphragm or the diaphragm may be partly or completely made of heat sealable material.
