Abstract

1283849 Break spinning apparatus VYZKUMNY USTAV BAVLNARSKY 30 Nov 1970 [27 March 1970] 56691/70 Heading DID In a machine in which vent openings 9 in a rotor 5 generate a depression in the interior space 7 of the rotor whereby fibres separated by a combing roller 19 from a sliver 33 are fed through a channel 22 to the space 7 where they pass up a conical surface 11 to a collecting surface 8 on which they are deposited as a ribbon and twisted into yarn 25 which is withdrawn through a bore 24 by rollers 26 and wound onto a bobbin 28, impurities conveyed with the fibres into the space 7 are discharged through openings 12 in the surface 8 to a closed chamber 13 which is sealed by labyrinth seals formed by annular walls 11, 131 coacting with grooves 18 in a plate 16. In a modification, in which the annular wall 131 is dispensed with, an annular wall projecting inwardly from the housing 1 forms a labyrinth seal with a grooved surface of the rotor below the vent openings 9.
