Abstract
1280690 Suspension preheaters for granular materials SOC FIVES LILLE-CAIL 7 Nov 1969 [13 Nov 1968] 54695/69 Heading F4B A suspension preheater for granular material, e.g. cement raw materials comprises cyclones 1 and 2 at a low level and cyclones 3, 4 and 5 at a higher level, the waste gases conduit 20 from cyclone 3 dividing into branches 24 and 28 serving cyclone 2 and dust separating cyclones 30, solids discharged from cyclones 2 and 30 being collected at 48 and pumped through a conduit 50 to conduit 16, said conduit 50 extending for a considerable part of its length within conduit 20 for heat exchange purposes. Waste gases drawn by fan 22 from cyclones 30 are discharged into a drying crusher 1 supplied with raw charge material from a hopper 52. Drawn by fan 38, these gases then charge material through a separator 34 for large material and a cyclone 36. Material from the latter passes by regulator 54 to hopper 56 from which it is fed by control 58 into conduit 26. It will be apparent that the charge material thus passes through each cyclone 1-5 in turn, before being fed into rotary furnace 10 by conduit 40.
