Abstract

1279064 Bulked yarns CHORI CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [7 Feb 1970] 24090/71 Headings D1F and D1W A bulked yarn comprising crimped spun yarn and crimped thermoplastic filaments, the yarn staples and the filaments being substantially uniformly mixed in a loosely intermingled state, is produced by feeding the yarn and the filaments into a crimping device so that they are simultaneously mixed and crimped, and then drawing the bulked yarn from the crimping device. The mixing and crimping are effected by false twisting with heat setting. The mixing of a polyester-wool blended yarn with polyethylene terephthalate filaments, and of an acrylic fibre spun yarn with nylon filaments, are exemplified.
