Abstract

891,618. Yarns and threads. BRITISH NYLON SPINNERS Ltd. Sept. 9, 1960 [Sept. 17, 1959], No. 31673/59. Class 120(3) [Also in Group XXV] A rope of more than one strand, has each strand composed of a core of plasticized polyvinyl chloride with a wrapping of rope yarns of a synthetic material, such as nylon, around the core, the core having a higher density than that of the synthetic material of the wrapping. The rope may have three strands. The synthetic material of the rope yarns may also be of a polyamide, polyester, polyethylene or isotatic polypropylene, and may be in a continuous filament or staple form, and the rope yarn may be twisted or untwisted. The rope sinks in salt water. Specification 811,501 is referred to.
