Abstract

1277925 Photo-electrophoretic imaging XEROX CORP 25 Aug 1969 [30 Aug 1968] 42158/69 Heading G2H A photo-electrophoretic imaging apparatus is generally similar to that disclosed in Specification 1185932, but has nozzles 56, 64 for directing an insulating liquid into the nip between an imaging electrode 41 and the blocking electrode 42. The insulating liquid is the same as the carrier liquid for the photo-sensitive particles or compatibles therewith and is stated to prevent air breakdown or ionization between the electrodes during imaging and improve imaging. Examples of insulating liquids are Sohio Odorless Solvent Isopar G (Trade Mark) and Freon (Trade Mark). In another embodiment, a transparent flat injecting electrode (1), Fig.1 (not shown), co-operates with a blocking electrode (5) in the form of a roller and a transfer electrode (18).
