Abstract
1313683 Photo-electrophoretic imaging XEROX CORP 28 May 1970 [2 June 1969] 25634/70 Heading G2H In a photo-electrophoretic imaging process, residual charge is removed from the blocking electrode (before or after cleaning) by effecting heat transfer so as to lower its resistivity whereafter heat transfer is effected in the opposite direction so as to restore the resistivity to its former value. The blocking electrode may be of polyethylene (the lowering of resistivity being by heating) and may be in the form of a roller, plate or belt. Heating may be by a steel roller, gas or radiation. Cooling may be by a steel roller, gas or mere dissipation of heat. As shown, a positive image is formed on an injection electrode 3, the backing electrode being in the form of a roller 5 in contact with an earthed heating roller 16 and a cooling roller 17.
