Abstract

1,271,316. Condensing sliver from combing machines. OSAKA KIKO K.K. and CHUWA WOOL INDUSTRY CO. Ltd. 21 April, 1969, No. 20355/69. Heading D1N. A combed web is diverted towards a sliver condenser so that the combed fibres thereof are turned out of an initial longitudinal direction of movement through an angle which becomes progressively more acute from one side of the web to the other. The leading ends of the combed fibres which were in substantial alignment after passing through the comber are displaced by the condenser so that they are substantially uniformly distributed lengthwise of the sliver. One condensed sliver can pass through a storage device, crimping means and drafting apparatus. A plurality of combed webs can be condensed separately and drafted, or a plurality of superimposed webs can be condensed simultaneously and then drafted.
