Abstract
126,406. Clements, J. Feb. 1, 1918. Sights.-Consists in supporting an anti-aircraft or other high-angle-fire gun on a light frame formed of members which extend laterally on each side of the gun and carry respectively observing and sighting means. In the form shown, the gun A is mounted on a frame B. The sighter stands behind one part B<1> of the frame and uses a V back-sight n in conjunction with a foresight having vertical and horizontal bars or wires o, p, whilst the observer stands behind the other part B<11> of the frame and uses the telescope r. Clamped to the gun is a bracket f carrying a trunnion pin e journaled in cheeks d extending from a plate b trainable on a vertical pivot c on a post a. The pin e carries a pointer g moving over an elevation scale h. The frame B may be fixed to the gun by arms i extending from clamps j, but, in the example shown, springs m are arranged between the arms i and the frame, the arms then working in slots k. The sighter and observer are supported by straps s when manipulating the frame, and the firing and loading are performed by a man working between them.
