Abstract

1,261,943. Epoxy resin/cement adhesives. BUILDING ADHESIVES Ltd. 8 April, 1970 [17 April, 1969], No. 19668/69. Heading C3B. [Also in Division C1] An epoxy resin/hydraulic cement adhesive composition comprises up to 40% of hydraulic cement, 2À5-20% of an epoxy resin, 2À5-20% of a water-dispersible liquid polyamide curing agent for the epoxy resin, 0À1-5%, of a cellulose ether, 0-60% of an inert filler and 10-40% of water (per cent by weight). The composition is in the form of a two-part pack for subsequent mixing. The first part comprises the hydraulic cement, epoxy resin and cellulose ether; the second part comprises a gel of the liquid polyamide in water and the inert filler when present. The first part may also contain a solvent, e.g. isopropanol. The second part may also contain an accelerator for the curing agent, e.g. 2,4,6- tris-(dimethylaminomethyl)phenol and/or an inert liquid tar. In a modification the composition may comprise a three-part pack comprising: (1) hydraulic cement, inert filler and cellulose ether, (2) epoxy resin, and (3) polyamide curing agent and water.
