Abstract

1,260,046. Artificial hip joints. D. HOWSE & CO. Ltd. 26 Aug., 1970 [25 Sept., 1969], No. 47343/69. Heading A5R. A hip cup 3 for use with a femoral head prosthesis 1 has a continuous internal bearing surface, consisting of more than half of a sphere. The cup is preferably made of high density polyethylene or other flexible material. The lip 4 preferably extends about “ inch beyond the equatorial plane 5 of the cup. The outer surface of the cup is grooved to receive cement.
