Abstract
1,255,879. Vibratory conveyers. REX CHAINBELT Inc. 16 Dec., 1969 [23 Dec., 1968], No. 61135/69. Heading B8A. In a reciprocating conveyer 1, Fig. 1, which is mounted on springs 3, 4, and vibrated by an eccentric shaft 7 through links 9, 10 and a spring 14, the shaft is driven by a squirrel-cage induction motor 5 to which a variable voltage is applied to vary the vibration speed through a range which includes the natural frequency of the system. As described a flywheel is provided either on the motor or on the eccentric shaft. The spring 14 is pre-compressed to produce a force which is greater than the alternating component of force in the links 9, 10. The variable voltage may be produced by a variable autotransformer, Fig. 3 (not shown), or a controlled semi-conductor rectifier circuit which includes a motor speed sensing circuit, Fig. 4 (not shown).
