Abstract

847,940. Vibratory mechanisms. CARRIER CONVEYOR CORPORATION. Feb. 5, 1957, No. 3891/57. Class 80 (4). The work - producing member or mass 1 of a vibratory mechanism is supported on relatively weak springs 10 and is coupled to an exciting mass or impulse member 2 by a spring 3, the mass of member 2 being within 12 to 50% of the mass of member 1. The member 1 supports a rotary crank 5 coupled by a link 7 to the member 2 and driven from a motor 11 at a speed approximating to the natural frequency of the system. The rotating crank may alternatively be on the member 2 and be coupled to the member 1 or it may be replaced by a rotating out-ofbalance mass on the member 2. The member 2 is guided along a desired path of vibration relative to member 1 by a link 22.
