Abstract
1,058,665. Vibrating sieves. CHAIN BELT CO. Feb. 7, 1964, No. 5352/64. Heading B2H. [Also in Division B8A]. A vibrating conveyer trough or sieve 20 is supported from base 22 by air cushions 21 and is vibrated by out of balance weights 26 which are carried by casing 24 supported by arms 28 pivoted to casing 27 secured to trough 20; and casing 24 is connected directly to the trough 20 by spring 23. The amplitude of vibration transmitted by the weights to trough 20 is varied by air cushions 32 which are contained within extension 35 (Fig. 2 not shown) of the casing 24 which carries the vibrating weights 26, the cushions being connected by casing 36 to damper mass 31 carried by links 33. Mass 31 moves with casing 36. The pressure of air within the cushions 32 is varied by air introduced from 37 at 39. This varies the elastic connection between mass 31 and casing 24 to vary the amplitude of vibration. The position of the air cushions 32 in the system may be varied.
