Abstract

1,251,970. Endless conveyers for feeding or discharging coal to or from a hopper. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. 17 June, 1969 [18 June, 1968], No. 28930/68. Heading B8A. Coal etc. is fed to, or discharged from, a, hopper 10, by means of a conveyer having a downwardly extending portion 8 and a portion 6 extending at an angle to, and continuous with, the upper end of the portion 8, there being means 26 for varying the length of the portion 8. As shown, the conveyer 6, 8, has buckets 14 and coal is fed to it by a conveyer 2. There may be a third conveyer sloping upwardly from the ground to a position adjacent the outer end of the conveyer 6. The lower end of the section 8 of the conveyer 6, 8, may be raised and lowered automatically in response to the level of coal in the hopper 10. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown) the conveyers 6, 8, and 2, are adapted to serve a series of hoppers.
