Abstract

1,245,338. Pipe joints. FRIEDRICH GROHE ARMATURENFABRIK. 14 Aug., 1969 [14 Aug., 1968], No. 40764/69. Heading F2G. A tap unit comprises a pipe portion 8 slidably connected to a connecting pipe 11 and a casing 1 to conceal the connection therebetween and formed integrally with the portion 8. A spout (6) (Fig. 3, not shown) vents a mixture of cold and hot water supplies through two similar inlets 8<SP>1</SP>, the supply being regulated by control valves 4 and 5 respectively. The connecting pipe 11 is screwed into the supply pipe by means of the hexagonal portion 12. Sealing rings 9 are provided on pipe 11 at the connecting portion thereof with pipe portion 8. The pipe 11 includes a portion 13 of tapered cross-section so that with the parts positioned for assembly, the casing 1 is caused to be drawn to abut the wall 9<SP>1</SP> or the like by tightening the securing means 15.
