Abstract
1,241,796. Gas meters. UNITED GAS INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 31, 1968 [ Aug.1, 1967], No.47423/70. Divided out of 1, 241, 795. Heading G1R. A four chamber dry gas meter has a moulded control body 2 shaped to provide two gas measuring chambers, valve ports for the chambers and all the ducting between the four chambers and the valve ports, the valve ports being positioned to be opened and closed by a single oscillating valve 5, 7, and the other two chambers are provided by covers 3, 4 sealingly fastened to the meter body 2 and separated from the first two chambers by diaphragms connected to the single valve 5, 7 by flag rods 9, 10 driven by the diaphragms. The body 2 is formed by two separately moulded synthetic plastics components bonded together by ultrasonic welding. The covers 3, 4 are also moulded from plastics and held on the body by U-shaped clips, bolts, an adhesive or ultrasonic welding.
