Abstract

1,240,298. Carton erecting machines. K.A.A.T. ERICSON. 13 Aug., 1968 [6 Sept., 1967], No. 38608/68. Heading B5D. [Also in Division B8] A machine for erecting a carton blank (see Division B8) and engaging tongues 12 and slots 14 thereof comprises a plunger (15) and a die (1), Fig. 4 (not shown), the latter having a member 13 to align the blank over the die, members 11 to push corner panels 10 of the blank towards the bottom panel and shoulders (9), Fig. 3 (not shown), to push the tongues into engagement with the slots. The die (1) has outwardly inclined wall portions (3), (5), the former extending to a lower level than the latter causing the side wall panels of the blank to be erected before the end wall panels. Notches (7) offer passage to the portions of the side wall panel bounded by the slit 14.
