Abstract

1,235,598. Pressurized dispensing containers. UNION CARBIDE CORP. Sept. 30, 1969 [Nov. 1, 1968], No. 47918/69. Heading F1R. A valve assembly comprises a valve housing 16 and includes an axially movable hollow stem 14. A gasket 38 encircles the valve stem 14 to provide a seal, and an annular protuberance 54 on the valve housing 16 projects into the gasket 38, closely adjacent to the valve stem 14, to deform the gasket 38, thereby enhancing the sealing action. A lubricating felt 43 is secured around the stem by a cap 44.
