Abstract
1,232,893. Spray producers; coating apparatus. PROGRAMMED & REMOTE SYSTOMS CORP. 2 May, 1969, No. 22441/69. Heading B2F and B2L. [Also in Division F2] Apparatus for spraying one of a plurality of paints from a plurality of supply lines comprises a valve body 11, a plurality of first chambers 13 defined in said body, a collector chamber 16, each of said first chambers being open through a separate port 34 to said collector chamber and a single discharge conduit 17 being also open to said collector chamber, a separate supply of paint 24 under pressure to each of said first chambers, and a separate valve 40 in each of said first chambers, said valve being movable by piston 44 against bias 47 from a position closing the port leading to the collector chamber to a position in which said port in open, the first chambers being arranged with their axes parallel and lying annularly round the centre of the valve body and said collector chamber being an annular groove at one end of the body, and means for supplying paint solvent for cleaning the collector chamber and outlet within the annular area defined by said first chambers, e.g. through line 63 and passage 68 via non-return valve 66. The valves may be operated by pneumatic piston 44, either manually or according to a preselected programme.
