Abstract

1366363 Coating apparatus NORDSON CORP 12 Nov 1971 [13 Nov 1970] 52754/71 Heading B2L Apparatus for coating substrates comprises a housing 15 having a series of bores 23 therein each of which accommodates a gun for dispersing the coating material the housing having passages 16, 17 which intersect chambers 47, 48 respectively in the gun body one to take the coating medium and the other a control fluid. As shown chamber 47 receives air under pressure from the passageweay 16 to cause a piston 70 to rise against the action of a spring 80 to open a ball valve 65. The chamber 48 receives coating medium from passageway 17 through an opening 66. Heaters may be provided in the housing to maintain the coating medium in a fluid condition.
