Abstract

1,226,445. Floor structure. POWERLOCK FLOORS Inc. 10 June, 1969, No. 29376/69. Heading E1W. A floor comprises elongated wooden sleepers 11 resting on a foundation and superposed parallel floor boards 20 extending transversely thereto and attached by fastening members 30, a strip-like restraining member 18 secured to sleepers at least each end portion of each of said sleepers and preferably sandwiched between the floorboards and sleepers, to restrain the sleepers against longitudinal expansion. The member 18 as described comprises a metal strip which is secured to the sleepers by the nails 30 which also secure the floorboards 20. The sleepers may rest on resilient pads 15.
