Abstract

1,226,419. Ventilators. AIRBALANCE Inc. 16 July, 1968, No. 33905/68. Heading F4V. A louvre comprises a rectangular frame in which the opposing side members 42 are each provided with two rails 44, 46 and louvre blades 52 fitted into opposing slots in the rails and each provided with two ribs 64, 66 engaging the respective rails. In another embodiment, the ribs 64, 66 on each blade are replaced by longitudinal corrugations in the blade, each respectively abutting one of the two rails on each side member 42. A flange 84 on each blade 52 prevents entry of rain, and mounted between each pair of adjacent blades is a wire screen 112. The louvre may be made of extruded aluminium or steel.
