Abstract
1,223,481. Thermal switches. SOLARTRON ELECTRONIC GROUP Ltd. 30 Jan., 1969 [31 Jan., 1968], No. 5045/68. Heading HlN. In a thermal switch of the type in which contact carrying tongue 19, Fig. 1, of a bimetal member 13 is latched up to prevent reclosure of the contacts by a resilient locking member 21 the end 20 of the tongue is rounded or ramped whereby, on manual resetting, when the locking member 21 is partially withdrawn by resetting member 27 the ramped end 20 completes the displacement of the locking member 21 as the arm 19 snaps back to the contacts closed portion. The resetting member 27 moulded from elastomeric material is pivoted at 23 to the body 11 of the switch and has an integral resilient limb 25 engaging the body to act as a retractive spring for the manual actuating system. An abutment surface 29 is provided in the member 27 for engagement by a push rod on axis 30, a projection 32 on the member 27 engaging a bent end 33 of the resilient locking member 21 during resetting. Modifications are referred to in which a ball and socket joint is provided at the abutment surface 29 for connection to the manual actuator. Specification 1,036,127 is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,036,127.
