Abstract

920,237. Retractive switches. BROOKFIELD IGRANIC Ltd. April 18, 1961 [May 31, 1960], No. 13936/61. Class 38 (5). A limit switch assembly comprises a plurality of push-button retractive switches mounted in a common casing and actuated by a common plunger through a bell-crank lever. As shown, the operating plunger 22 extends into an insulating housing 10, e.g. of phenolic resin, and carries at its end a pair of bushings 31, 32 urged apart by a compression spring 34 so that bushing 31 will engage the vertical arm of bell-crank lever 30 and bias it anticlockwise. The bell-crank lever normally engages the actuator buttons of three retractive switches such as 38 mounted side by side and maintains the switches in the position shown. On depression of plunger 22 against the bias of spring 26, the compression spring 34 expands and relaxes allowing bushing 31 to disengage the lever so that the switches can retract.
