Abstract

Permanent piping or a solid rod, e.g. of concrete, is installed in the ground by first forming a horizontal duct having a temporary steel lining by conventional auger boring or jacking methods, and then forcing the permanent piping or rod in behind the lining to drive it out at the other end of the duct. The permanent piping may be partitioned for pipes or wires, and successive sections are mutually located by a spigot and by dowels.
