Abstract

1,214,252. Thermal switches. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS Inc. 1 April, 1969 [3 April, 1968], No. 16964/69. Heading H1N. A thermal switch comprises a pair of bimetal discs 21, 22, Fig. 3 mounted in separate seats of a retaining member 18 and engaging plungers 23, 24 respectively for operating movable contacts 8<SP>1</SP>, 14<SP>1</SP> at different temperatures. In the example shown the discs are not concentric and the disc 21 and contact blade 14<SP>1</SP> are apertured for the plunger 23. In a modification (Figs. 1 and 2, not shown) the discs are concentric and one of the discs is engaged by two plungers disposed one on either side of the plunger for the other disc.
