Abstract

1,208,051. Resiliently mounted adjustable seats. E. DALFIUME. 5 Jan., 1968 [7 Jan., 1967], No. 908/68. Headings A4J and A4U. In a vehicle seat having an angularly adjustable brack-rest 19, two pairs of bellcrank levers 6, 6<SP>1</SP> are connected to a frame 10, which is movable horizontally to vary the height of the seat and is actuated by a compression spring 12, to provide a resilient seat suspension. On turning knob 15, rod 13 is screwed through it to vary the position of frame 10 and effect the vertical adjustment of the seat, without altering the effect of spring 12. A shock absorber 18 is provided. On raising handle 31, teeth (23, Fig. 3, not shown) are withdrawn simultaneously from notches (27), in sectors (26), carried by the back-rest plate 33, on both sides of the seat. The backrest 19 may then move forwardly, under the action of springs (20), until the release of the handle 31 causes re-engagement of the teeth and notches.
