Pocket igniters, frictional.-The lid 5, wick tube 6, sparking-wheel 10, and pyrophoric material 9 are carried by an inner casing 3 slidably mounted in an outer casing 1 forming a packed reservoir The lid 5 is arranged so as to rest on a flat formed on t h e sparking-wheel 10 and to turn it through such contact when the lid is opened À A spring 17 is coiled round the axle of the sparking-wheel in such a manner that one end of the spring bears against the lid and the other end against the top of the inner casing. The lid is provided with a cap 16, which fits over the wick when the lid is closed.
