Abstract

1,197,615. Valves. BOPP & REUTHER G.m.b.H. 15 Aug., 1967, No. 37440/67. Heading F2V. A gate for a valve comprises an endless resilient sealing strip cemented into a groove, and extending around the whole periphery of the gate, formed by a part 9 extending around approximately one third of the lower portion of the periphery, and acting radially of the gate, and two parts 10 extending at each side of the upper periphery of the gate and acting transversely. The gate is hollow with an opening 15, and has a guiding groove 7 at each side, the strip being bifurcated just below the groove at 13, at which point it can be externally flat, convex, or concave. The strip can be extended by a thin film 17 over the whole surface of the gate, and it can be formed with a grooved recess 16, or may be hollow.
