Abstract
1,187,675. Stackable and nestable crates. DAIRY SUPPLY CO. Ltd. 24 July, 1968 [25 July, 1967], No.34013/67. Heading B8P. A crate made from rods &c. has handles linked to two ends of its upper perimeter which pivot between positions where they form a seating for stacking the crates and positions where they allow nesting. The handles 7 are in the form of closed loops, Fig. 2 (not shown), and are linked to the crate through loops 11. The handles 7 pivot so that raised cross-bars 8 rest in notches 16 in the upper perimeter rail 1, and can hence engage notches 17 in the bottom perimeter rail 3 of a further crate to be stacked. For nesting, the bottom perimeter rail 3 of the inner orate rests on slide and end bars 6 of the outer one, bars 8 being hinged clear of the top of the crate. The bottom of the crate is formed of a lattice of wide and narrow rods 4 and 5.
