Abstract

1,182,892. Clamping device. PRESSEN-UND SCHERENBAU ERFURT VEB. 31 May, 1968, No. 26213/68. Heading B3H. A tool or sliding table clamping device for a press comprises a double-acting piston-cylinder assembly 1 pivoted in a housing 3 and whose piston-rod 2 has a bifurcated end 4 to which a clamping arm 5 is pivoted. The arm has a guide slot 11 in which a pin 6 fixed to the housing engages. The pin 6 is preferably constructed as an eccentric to establish conformity of the line of force between the clamping point and the cylinder. A guide link 9 is pivoted to the housing at 10 and pivoted to the arm by a pin 8 which extends between the legs of the bifurcated end 4. The assembly may be hydraulic or pneumatic and downward movement of the piston causes the arm 5 first to pivot towards the table 13 and when vertical to move downwards to clamp the table. The table is moved out of the press over the arm which when retracted is positioned below the table.
