Abstract

1,177,932. Magnetic switches. WADE PNEUMATIC Ltd. 20 Jan., 1967 [20 Jan. 1966] No. 2607/66. Heading H1N. A double-acting fluid pressure operated piston 24 is mounted in a non-magnetic cylinder 10 which supports one or more magnetically operable control means such as sealed magnetic reed contact units 42 and the piston includes a plurality of bar permanent magnets 72 with their magnetic axes parallel to the axis of the piston. The magnets extend between ferromagnetic rings 78 forming polepieces retained by screws 83. The magnets are located in a non-magnetic disc 76. The contact units are mounted in nylon holders 52 which are adjustably held on the cylinder 10 by screws 66. In an alternative arrangement (Fig. 4, not shown) the control means may be mounted by U-shaped supports adjustably mounted on guide rods along the outside of the cylinder. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1.103,118.
