Abstract
1,177,574. Stools. HARRIS & SHELDON (DISPLAY) Ltd. 16 Feb., 1968 [18 Feb., 1967], No. 7833/67. Heading A4J. On lifting the revolving seat 22, of a shoe-fitting stool, the ends of screws 34 enter notches 31, to prevent the seat from being rotated relatively to its stand 10. A spring may be provided, so that the seat is normally locked against rotation, unless sat upon. A foot rest 16 is rotatably mounted on a post 15 and can be locked, at required orientation, by clamping screw 20. In another form, stem 24 is screwthreaded and is supported in a nut (37, Fig. 3, not shown), having a sleeve (38) slidably and non-rotatably guided in post 11. A cup-shaped member (41) is keyed for rotation with the stem 24 but moves vertically with the nut (37), so that its notches 30 engage screws (40).
