[Also in Divisions C2 and C3] In an Example (6), wood or metal is coated with a solution of a polyester obtained from phthalic acid, adipic acid, butane-diol and hexane-triol and containing 9% hydroxyl groups in an ethylene glycol acetate, butyl acetate, ethyl acetate mixture, the solution containing 2-(2<SP>1</SP>-hydroxy-3<SP>1</SP>-phthalimidomethyl-5<SP>1</SP>-methyl phenyl)-benzotriazole as U.V. absorbing agent, to produce a transparent, scratch-resistant film.
