Abstract
1,167,927. Mixing apparatus. PUTZMEISTER-WERK MASCHINENFABRIK G.m.b.H. 14 Aug., 1967 [12 Aug., 1966], No. 37328/67. Heading B1C. [Also in Division B8] Concrete is aerated in a tank 1 to facilitate its movement through a delivery pipe 13. The tank has mixing blades 5 and feeding blades 6, on the same or a different shaft. The function of the feeding blades is to direct the concrete to the outlet 3, and a screw could alternatively be used. Air is introduced at 7 near the feeding blades and the outlet and also at 8 to pressurise the tank to force the concrete through the delivery pipe, and also at 14 to aerate the concrete further. The air supply rates are preferably kept constant, for example by the use of pressure regulating valves, or by connecting the three air inlets to separate cylinders of a multi-cylinder compressor. The flow of concrete may be varied by varying the amount of air introduced at 14. The operation of the apparatus is stopped when the tank is nearly empty, as detected by a weight sensitive switch 10 or by sensing the reduced driving torque, to prevent loss of air and the dangerous ejection of the last plug of concrete.
