Abstract

1,167,066. Container closures; portable containers. AKERLUND & RAUSING A.B. 1 June, 1967 [15 June, 1966], No. 25277/67. Headings B8D and B8T. A closure for a container has a cylindrical plug portion 5, the side wall of which becomes progressively thinner from top to bottom, and a flange 6, 7 of channel form. A bead 8 may be locked under a flange 4 on the container during storage or transport but, after the closure is removed and re-applied, may rest on the flange 4 while the plug portion 5 holds the closure in its re-sealing position. The container is formed by a cardboard sleeve 1 and liner 3 of P.V.C., the closure being of polyethylene. The liner may have an inward rib 17, and a sealing flange (18), Fig. 4 (not shown), may be formed on the external face of the plug portion 5. A rim 13 enables adjacent containers to be stacked.
