Abstract

1,164,451. Knitting-machines. KROY KNITTING DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. 29 Sept., 1966 [29 June, 1965], No. 27421/65. Heading D1C. A yarn guide unit comprises a series of feeders, such as 1, and a pattern drum 2 rotated by a pawl 19 attached to an electromagnet armature 18 and rendering selected feeders operative. Elements 15, or pins, in the drum strike a pivoted arm 21 and raise or lower the associated feeder via a gear train. An inoperative yarn is caught and trapped under the cut-out 1b when the feeder is raised. The electromagnet may be energised by electrical impulses from a microswitch, closed by passing needle butts, and is subject to an overriding control from a pattern card or the like.
