Abstract
1,161,326. Bottling. SEITZ-WERKE G.m.b.H. 29 Sept., 1966 [30 Sept., 1965], No. 43559/66. Heading B8T. A suction bottling machine has a filler head depending from a bowl 12 and comprising a liquidtransmitting pipe 16 containing a slidable valve sleeve 10, 21 biased downwardly by a spring 15 to close, as shown, against a fixed valve head 14, the valve head forming the lower end of a suctiontransmitting pipe 11 which extends above the level of the liquid in the bowl. A filling nozzle 22 at the bottom of the valve sleeve 10, 21 has a hole at its lower end to allow the passage of liquid. Adjacent the hole there is the end 24 of a tube 23 which extends inside the nozzle 22 and up into the suction pipe 11. When a bottle 25 to be filled is raised through a centring cone 19 to abut a sealing ring 25 on the valve sleeve 10, 21, first air is drawn out through the tube 23 and the suction pipe 11 into the bowl 12. As the bottle is raised further, the valve sleeve 10, 21 is pushed upwards against the bias of the spring 15 to separate it from the valve head 14, and liquid runs into the bottle. When the bottle is full, it is taken off the filling nozzle 22, the valve 10, 21; 14 shuts, and suction draws excess liquid in the nozzle, &c. up the suction pipe 11. The filling nozzle 22 may be replaceable.
