Heading B2E [Also in Division C3] - - - A highly elastic fibre-reinforced duroplast comprises high-strength organic artificial or regenerated fibres with a minimum strength of 4 g den and an elongation at break of 6 to 40% incorporated in any desired. make-up as reinforcing material into an elastic synthetic resin with an elongation at break of at least 8%, the quotient of the elongation at break of the resin and that of the fibre being equal to or greater than 1. Preferred duroplasts are elastic polyester resins, elastic epoxide resins and elastic methyl methacrylate resins. Preferred fibres are those of polyester, polyamide, polypropylene and cellulose. They may be in the form of woven and knitted fabrics, filling fleece, needle fleece, paper fleece, endless filameats, monofilaments, staple fibres or shortcut fibres. In the Examples polyethylene tarephthalate, nylon, rayon and glass fibres are used.
