Abstract

1336368 Anti-static yarns BRUNSWICK CORP 19 April 1971 [13 March 1970] 23785/ 71 Heading D1W A composite textile yarn comprises a non- metallic yarn including monofilament strands and a spun blended yarn plied with said non- metallic yarn, said blended yarn being formed of metallic and non-metallic staple fibres, said metallic fibres being distributed in said blended yarn to be incapable of sustaining an electric current flow continuously therethrough. The non-metallic yarn and the non-metallic staple fibres may be formed from cellulose acetate or triacetate, rayon, fluorocarbon, or polypropylenes. The non-metallic part of the spun blended yarn may be formed from sacrificial material such as water-, or chemically-soluble, material, e.g. polyvinyl acetate or chemically soluble rayon. The metallic fibres may have rough, non-machined, unburnished outer surfaces.
