Abstract

1,156,430. Load handling pallets; stillages. ROOD END FOUNDRIES Ltd. 7 June, 1968 [14 July, 1967], No. 32552/67. Heading B8H. A pallet, Fig. 1, comprises four similar sections 10, each an aluminium or aluminium alloy casting and each with a foot 10c at each corner. Each foot 10c is generally L-shaped in plan and the sections 10 are connected by bolts (not shown) through holes 11 drilled in the feet be. The sections 10 are additionally connected by metal strips 12 bolted into recesses cast into the corners of the sections 10. The sections 10 may be of other straight-sided polygonal shape, e.g. right-angled isosceles triangles (not shown), and more than four sections 10 may be connected-together. A barrel stillage, Fig. 2, can be used with the above pallet and comprises two similar castings 13 with at least one notch 15 for supporting the end of a barrel (not shown). The castings 13 are connected by metal strips 14 and each has a turned-down edge to a flange 13b which can be located in recesses 10d in the pallet. The edges of the metal strips 14 are located by opposite recesses 10e.
